Kailua Oahu is a great beach community and only a 15 minute drive from the city of Honolulu, yet many people never take the time to go there. The town of Kailua has about 36,500 residents and the community remains strong and well connected to one another.

This windward town is well worth a visit. One of the best beaches in the world can be found here. Kailua Beach is picture perfect. The glistening sand and turquoise water are a true Hawaiian paradise. The great onshore trade winds make this a very popular coast for windsurfing.

Kailua was very hard for the Native Hawaiians to get to before the Napali Highway was built. The secluded vibe still remains even though access is quite easy. This is a town that can be easily over-looked by visitors but shouldn’t be. If you can find the time take the trip. You’ll be glad you did.
